Digital infrastructure provider Liquid Intelligent Technologies South Africa's chief financial officer, Lerato Pule, has resigned.

Pule joined the company as CFO in February 2024 and is departing less than a year after her appointment.

This is the second company that Pule has left, after a short period; she left mobile operator Cell C in August 2023, less than a year after becoming CFO.

At Liquid South Africa, Pule was responsible for overseeing the company's financial strategy, as it continued to build on its vision of a digitally connected future.

An emailed comment to Connecting Africa, Liquid Intelligent Technologies South Africa confirmed that Pule had decided to pursue other opportunities outside of Liquid Intelligent Technologies.

"The organization wishes her the best of luck in her endeavors and appreciates her contribution to the business during her time with us," the company commented.

Pule's career path

Before working as the CFO at Cell C, Pule was the company's executive director of financial planning, analysis and reporting from February 2022. She took over as Cell C CFO from Zaf Mahomed in September 2022.

She also previously served as CFO of Telkom South Africa's SME segment.

Pule is a qualified chartered accountant with over 16 years' experience in financial and business management at an operational and strategic level in various organizations including BCX and African Bank.

Pule is not the first executive that recently resigned from Liquid Intelligent Technologies.

In August 2024, the company's Group Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, Ben Roberts, stepped down from his role, after 22 years with the group.

In addition to his role as Group Chief Technology and Innovation Officer since 2017, Roberts also served as Chief Technical Officer at Liquid Telecom starting in 2006.

In October 2023, Liquid C2 CEO David Behr also left the company to become head of MTN's ICT Centre of Excellence.
